IBM Award benefits still flow for Certus Solutions

Meeting a benchmark set by IBM was just one of the benefits of entering the IBM Business Partner Awards for Certus Solutions.

Last year the company was Highly Commended in the Best Workplace Collaboration category. The collaboration was with the Department of Building and Housing on the Weathertight Homes project.

Business development general manager Martin Ashwin says the award has had flow-on benefits for securing business. “For new customers it marks a key achievement in our credentials, it recognises we’ve met an international benchmark that is commended at the highest level. To existing customers it reinforces the decision they’ve made to come with us.”

Taking part in the awards raised Certus Solutions’ profile, says Ashwin.“By virtue of the awards ceremony itself and the wide media coverage that followed, the awards gave us positive exposure to a customer base that we may not otherwise have reached.”

Certus is looking at entering the awards again this year and would recommend industry players take part, adds Ashwin. “They’re very well run, with a vigorous judging process and a high-profile awards celebration that follows, and the flow on affect is great. You get to share in many of the success stories by simply being a part of it.”

Entries are still open for the 2008 IBM Business Partner Awards that are held in association with Reseller News.

The newspaper’s associate publisher Bill Bennett says 48 people have downloaded entry forms for the IBM Business Partner Awards with three weeks to go.

“We’re expecting double that number by the close of entries. We’re a long way ahead of where we were last year.”

He says there is intense competition in three categories and they are: Infrastructure Optimisation, Best Energy-Efficient Solution and Best Growth-Driven Business Solution.

However, Bennett would like to see more entries in the Best Non-IBM Business Partner Solution.

“We have some strong entries, but more are needed.”

Nominations for the new People’s Choice Reseller Award are also going well with 11 nominations received. Though Bennett adds that more people need to vote. “The votes are evenly spread and there isn’t a clear frontrunner.”
