Express Data relocation set for October

Local distributor Express Data is gearing up to move from its Auckland premises in Carbine Road, Mt Wellington early next month to larger premises in the same suburb.

General manager of sales and marketing, Paul Plester, says the purpose-built property is nearing completion on the corner of George Bourke Drive and Carmont Place.

“We’ll have three times the warehouse and three times the office space. We’ve also got three new [server] configuration centres. It’s a reward for the staff and we’re looking forward to delivering more services to our customers.”

Plester says the move was prompted by a lack of warehouse and office space.

“We’ve had a city office for our outbound sales people for some years now and this has alleviated the need for space. But in the past two years we’ve had considerable growth with our Sun distribution.”

With bigger premises, Plester believes that Express Data can go to greater levels configuring Sun and Cisco servers.

“We’ve been a bit restricted by our current premises and the new building can bring on new capabilities around a service called Express Online, and deliver more value-add services to customers.”

And more staff in Auckland may be on the cards.

“We’ve steadily grown the number of staff in Christchurch and Wellington, so Auckland is really a springboard for further growth over the next 12 months,” he says.
