Suppliers aboard for passenger information system

The Greater Wellington Regional Council is implementing a Real Time Passenger Information System for trains and buses. According to expressions of interest (EOI) documents released this week, the system will need to include real time location tracking of 500 buses and 90 trains.

The Council plans to include external data feeds providing real time arrival estimates for every public transport stop in the region to the Council’s website and SMS services.

The successful supplier will have to design, install and maintain the Real Time Passenger Information System.

The deadline for replies is Monday, October 13. More details are available on the Government Electronic Tenders website under ICCNZ reference 23335.
