Navy casts out for navigation unit

The Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) in Auckland wants to purchase a navigational data system and is looking for suitable suppliers.

According to request for information (ROI) documents released this week, the system will need to feature military standard GPS and synchronised output to a ships inertial navigation system.

Once the ROI is closed, a request for proposal will be issued. Any future arrangement with a supplier is still to be decided by the RNZN.

The deadline for replies Thursday, October 2. More details are available on the Government Electronic Tenders website under ICCNZ reference 23386.
