Symantec partners get a new deal

To boost sales of selected Symantec products, the vendor has launched a partner promotion called Real Deal, which rewards reseller sales representatives with US dollars loaded on to Visa debit cards. "The cards can be used at any outlet in the world that accepts Visa debit cards for transactions at the point of sale, over the telephone or the internet.” says Enterprise Sales/Partners senior director David Dzienciol. Resellers earn money when they make licence sales or version upgrades for a range of products including Symantec Backup Exec 12, Backup Exec Agents and Options, Backup Exec System Recovery 8.0, Endpoint Protection 11 and Multi-tier Protection 11. The eligible products largely target the small to medium business market. “This is a competitive space and the Symantec Real Deal helps to motivate partners in the small to medium business market and reward them for doing so,” says Dzienciol. He adds that incentive programmes are a great way to reward loyal partners in tougher economic times. “Partners who understand their customers' business needs are in a good position to determine the products best suited to meet their requirements. If these products are eligible through the Real Deal, partners have the ability to capitalise on the hard work they have spent in closing the deal.”

The promotion runs until March 31 next year.
