Amid the tight labour market, IT firms have been finding it hard to fill some key roles.

Some of these include technical specialists, project managers, organisation heads and even sales staff.

In our last Quick Poll, we investigated how the tough economic climate was affecting industry players.

It seems not all are suffering from the current slump, with the results showing a clear divide between those who are cutting back and those who are continuing to maintain or grow their business.

Although 22 percent said they were tightening their belts, and 31 percent had downsized their firms, no readers said their companies were putting projects on hold.

In fact, another 22 percent were investing in their futures and a quarter said it was business as usual.
