The Department of Building and Housing in Wellington is searching for vendors as it develops an online building consent system.
According to request for tender (RFT) documents released this week, the Department wants to build the system due to the amount of paperwork and time involved with consents.
The RFT states that in 2007, New Zealanders lodged 113,000 manual and paper based building consents worth $13 billion.
The Department needs a system that will enable applicants and Building Consent Authorities (BCAs) to manage applications. A building products database will also need to be built.
Vendors must show they have delivered at least two $1 million-plus software integration projects within the last three years, as a prime vendor.
The deadline for replies is Friday, November 7. More details are available on the Government Electronic Tenders website under ICCNZ reference 23788.
