Soft Solutions signs on with AdventNet

Soft Solutions has signed on to distribute US-headquartered AdventNet’s ManageEngine enterprise management and security range.

The offerings the distributor will provide include ServiceDesk Plus helpdesk and asset management software, OpManager for network, system and application monitoring, AD Manager for web-based Active Directory oversight and the MSP Centre Plus managed service.

The distributor has already completed some transactions for the range, with customers including Fonterra and the Southland District Council.

Business development manager Paul Leslie says the ManageEngine product line is primarily pitched at the larger mid-market space.

“It can easily play in the large enterprise, but its target market is more the corporate space. It’s well priced to suit that market.” However, he says it could also suit organisations with a smaller number of seats.

Brand manager Aaron Bhashkar says most traction has so far been achieved for the helpdesk products, and there has been active interest by partners. He and Leslie say the ManageEngine brand is just as well known overseas as the AdventNet name.

“IT professionals coming here from overseas have been using this and key partners here want more information,” says Bhashkar.

Soft Solutions also provides other brands with similar products, including Altiris, GFI and Ipswitch, says Leslie. “We have quite a few network management tools on our books.”

As Soft Solutions builds momentum for the ManageEngine range, there is the possibility of adopting AdventNet’s SwisSQL database tools and its Zohos web-based productivity applications.

It is the sole New Zealand distributor for the company. In recent weeks Soft Solutions’ staff have been setting up a New Zealand website for it and undertaking technical training in Australia.

Before the appointment, Soft Solutions sourced some AdventNet products from Australia if required by customers.
