Auckland virtualisation company ViFx took out strong Australasian competition to secure a VMware Rising Star award.
Its fast growth in the local virtualisation and storage solutions market won over the judges at the awards ceremony in Sydney recently.
Sales and marketing director Derek Leitch says the company, which only started 12 months ago, did not expect to win.
“We weren’t too worried about an award, but it endorses our business management systems, our relationships with VMware and our position as an enterprise partner. It was a very nice way to finish our first year in business.”
Leitch says the virtualisation market continues to grow despite tough economic times.
“The storage and server consolidation cost saving proposition of x86 server optimisation, is allowing CIOs and IT people to save money when they’re under pressure."
He says the technology ViFx focuses on, resonates well with harder economic times.
“The market is nowhere near finished yet, never mind the coming waves of management automation and virtual desktops that are in development.”
