Anyware Computer Accessories has been appointed New Zealand sub-distributor for the Altec Lansing and Plantronics range of audio products, which includes loudspeakers for stereo and home theatre use, Bluetooth earpieces, Altec Lansing’s iPod/iPhone docking stations.
Steve Grant, Anyware’s Sydney-based marketing manager, says the company is currently seeing a noticeable increase in the adoption of Bluetooth earpieces among “soccer moms and tradesmen”; customers for whom they are labour-saving devices rather than mere fashion accessories.
The products covered by Anyware’s appointment will continue to be distributed in the retail channel by Atlas Gentech, while Anyware focuses purely on the PC channel, which it already services in Australia. Anyware has a dedicated sales-force covering New Zealand and an Auckland office run by New Zealand country manager Joshua Smith.
Retail and the mass merchant chain stores are Atlas Gentech’s area of speciality, whereas Anyware targets resellers and independents, says Grant. “Atlas looking after retail and us looking after the PC market casts a wider net, which means more choice for the end-users and they can exercise a bit more power at the checkout.”
He says Anyware is excited by this division along retail and reseller lines. “We both have expertise and established relationships with our customers. We look forward to an ongoing partnership that will build upon our strengths.”
