Dept of Statistics gives heads up on big tender

The countdown to the 2011 Census has begun for the Department of Statistics, with its issue of an advance notice for contact centre services.

According to the notice, which was released on the Goverment Electronic Tenders (GETS) website last week, the Department will release a request for proposals on February 25.

The scope of the process is to select a vendor to provide the centre and messaging system to support the census operation. This includes management of public enquiries, text messaging to collectors and notifications of census questionnaires that have been received via post or internet. The vendor must have the ability to manage a large volume of public enquiries over a short period of time.

A briefing will be held on Monday, March 2 in Wellington for potential vendors. The RFP closes on Friday, March 20. More details are available on the GETS website under ICCNZ reference 24865.
