Whangarei high school replaces ancient ICT cabling

In a bid to upgrade its ICT network Whangarei Boys’ High School is seeking a vendor to ditch 1993-era fibre-optic cabling and install 1GB continuous backbone cabling. According to request for information documents released this week, the school also needs its server room relocated and a new PABX IP system installed that supports digital and analogue phones.

This project will be run on a design and build basis, and companies will have a significant input into how the project objectives are achieved. Information on the existing network and school layout will be issued to companies invited to make tenders.

The deadline for replies is Friday 27 February. More details are available on the Government Electronic Tenders website under ICCNZ reference 24877.
