In a move to streamline operations the Education Review Office (ERO) is moving from three Domino servers to one Exchange system.
According to expression of interest documents released this week, the ERO’s email server environment consists of three servers holding different mail data. Two are located in Wellington and one in Auckland.
The upgrade project includes system design, install and integration of an Exchange 2007 application into the existing Active Directory 2008-based ERO network, along with the migration of 250 Notes mail databases to Exchange, including personal contacts, calendars, mail-in-databases and resources.
Additional 64-bit server hardware will need to be introduced to the ERO network to host Exchange and an Exchange web server would need to be set up to provide Outlook Anywhere and Outlook web access.
The supplier will need to provide an Exchange administrator who can work alongside the ERO IT team for up to two months, to support the environment during the implementation of the system.
The deadline for replies is Friday, February 27. More details are available on the Government Electronic Tenders website under ICCNZ reference 24972.
