A managed, global wide area virtual private network (VPN) is sought by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to expression of interest documents released last week, the Ministry’s global wide area network (WAN) is an important component of the infrastructure supporting the functioning of New Zealand’s diplomatic representation abroad and the functions of other government bodies.
Its goal is to deploy a cost-effective approach to its terrestrial global WAN requirements, ensuring current technologies are used.
The Ministry also wants to develop a global WAN that can be shared by other government agencies. The successful contractor will provide billing in New Zealand dollars, performance reporting and other tasks onsite at the Ministry’s head office in Wellington.
The deadline for replies is Friday, April 3. More details are available on the Government Electronic Tenders website under ICCNZ reference 25340.
