Wyse to introduce tiered partner programme

Thin client specialist Wyse is introducing a three-tier partner programme for New Zealand resellers on 1 April. The upper two levels of the programme, which is new to the New Zealand market, will be tied to revenue commitments, says Anna Soriano, Wyse’s director of APAC channel sales and marketing.

“We’ve had this partner programme in Australia but we’ve never released it in New Zealand because we didn’t have anyone on the ground here. Now that we’ve got Aaron [Tunnicliff, Wyse’s Christchurch-based sales engineer], it’s going to make it a lot easier to release it to the channel here.”

A new partner portal will also be launched on 1 April. “We’re going to have case studies, corporate PowerPoints and channel information that we don’t have on our website. We try to keep the website for end customers and this will be a channel portal.”

Existing partners will automatically become entry-level Affiliate partners, and the other two levels are Select and Premier. “What we’re looking for the disties to do, if people are selling Wyse, is to get them signed up so we have their details.”

All partners who participate in the Wyse Partner Network will be expected to complete some minimum requirements such as providing quality customer service, knowledge of Wyse offerings and agreement processes.

Affiliate level provides access to benefits such as special pricing, demonstration and evaluation units for customers and special promotions.

Select Partners in the mid-level of Wyse’s programme are expected to meet training and revenue requirements. There’s a minimum annual purchase commitment of NZ$50,000. “The Select partner level does require training,” says Soriano, “so we’re looking to the disties to select two or three partners in each region and let us know who they want to work with, and then we’ll do some training with them.”

Premier partner level is by invitation only. The revenue commitment minimum for Premium partners is NZ$75,000 in annual purchases, and partners must also generate a minimum of $50,000 in registered Wyse opportunities.

Ideally, Wyse is looking for people who already have backend Citrix, VMWare and Microsoft experience, says Soriano.

Malwarebytes shoots the breeze with channel, prospects

A Kumeu, Auckland, winery was the venue for a Malwarebytes event for partner and prospect MSPs - with some straight shooting on the side. The half-day getaway, which featured an archery competition, lunch and wine-tasting aimed at bringing Malwarebytes' local New Zealand and top and prospective MSP partners together to celebrate recent local successes, and discuss the current state of malware in New Zealand. This was also a unique opportunity for local MSPs to learn about how they can get the most out of Malwarebytes' MSP program and offering, as more Kiwi businesses are targeted by malware.
