VMware signs 1000th certified Aussie

Virtualisation provider VMware has now trained 1000 VMware certified professionals in Australia.

Systems integrator Jon Dawes secured this honour. He says he took part in the training course to advance his career in IT and to develop an in-depth understanding of VMware’s technology offering.

The company's A/NZ vice president Paul Harapin says certifying that number of professionals was a significant milestone for the virtualisation market and demonstrates the rapid growth of the technology in Australia.

“The role that certified professionals play is critical to enabling organisations to deploy virtualisation technologies that drive cost reductions, enhance efficiencies and enable the attainment of Green IT goals by reducing carbon outputs,” says Harapin.

He adds that VMware will develop more training programmes as the IT industry evolves and the company’s technology develops.
