Computer repair firm Tech People has been acquired by SME networking specialist Concerto Networks. The deal will make the business one of the largest firms of its kind in the country.
Franchise company Concerto Networks offers computer/server back-up and support services via a nationwide network of IT professionals.
Concerto Networks completed the purchase of Tech People, which was also known as PC People, on May 11 following several months of negotiations.
The purchase of Tech People will add 10 new franchise partners to Concerto Networks’ existing team of 17.
“We are now the largest franchise network of IT professionals in the country focused on the SME market,” says Justin Worsley, Concerto Networks’ managing director. “We are well on the way to our goal of having 60 franchisee partners in the country.”
Concerto Networks now operates in Nelson, Kapiti Coast and Palmerston North as a result of the take-over. In addition, its existing coverage of Auckland, Wellington Christchurch and Tauranga has also expanded.
In all, the company is helping SME clients in Auckland, Thames, Tauranga, Te Kuiti, Napier, Palmerston North, Kapiti Coast, Wellington, Christchurch, Timaru, Dunedin and Invercargill.
“The Tech People franchisees bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to our existing network,” says Worsley. “Tech People franchisees will now have access to the latest managed services offerings developed by Concerto Networks NZ.”
