IP business communications provider Interactive Intelligence has acquired AcroSoft, a US insurance content management provider.
Interactive Intelligence founder and CEO Dr Donald E.Brown says the company bought AcroSoft to increase its presence in an already strong vertical market.
“The market currently numbers more than 75 insurance customers. This also lays the groundwork for incorporating additional document management capabilities into our all-in-one communications software suite, and extending that functionality to other vertical industries and horizontal processes.”
The company purchased 100 percent of the AcroSoft stock in an all-cash transaction. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the acquisition is not expected to have a material impact on Interactive Intelligence’s financial condition or results of operations for 2009.
Under the terms of the agreement, AcroSoft will operate under the Interactive Intelligence brand name. It plans to maintain AcroSoft headquarters in South Carolina, US, and to hire additional software developers, support technicians, and salespeople.
AcroSoft staff will continue to service and support existing and new customers, both directly and through partner channels.
