Cashmore exits Riverbed

Riverbed New Zealand country manager Andrew Cashmore has resigned from the company.

A/NZ managing director Steve Dixon confirmed Cashmore left 10 days ago for personal reasons, but did not know if Cashmore was going to another IT company. “He needed a bit of R and R for a while. I don’t know what his plans are after that.”

Cashmore had been with Riverbed since May, 2007. Prior to this, he was the local Citrix country manager for nearly eight years.

Dixon says there are no immediate plans to replace him, saying he and director of channels Richard Grey will cover regional responsibilities. "We need to determine who is the right person to work with the channel here," says Dixon.

Dixon says he and Grey will be spending more time in New Zealand to try and replicate the success the company has seen in Australia.

“There’s a number of things we are doing in building up the local channel capability so we’re putting a lot of effort, money and marketing to get our channel partners more capable of selling and supporting the Riverbed product.”

Dixon adds Riverbed may look recruit Auckland-based staff. “A lot of it will be determined where the market is going and where we need people and what type [of skills].”

He hopes to get channel partners “more energised with better lead generation programmes, incentives and a whole range of programmes.”

Cashmore was contacted for comment by Reseller News but did not return calls.
