Top five IT rockstars make final cut

The top five entries for the IT rockstar competition have been tallied up by organisers 920 Career Agents. The five were chosen by visitors to the IT rockstar website.

Coming in first is Garth Davis, co-founder of digirama.co.nz, which was the first digital music download web site in NZ to offer major record label content.

Josh Waihi, who works on an open source content management called Drupal, is in second place.

The top five are joined by a wild card entry chosen by the organisers.

Voting has now stopped and it is up to the judges, including Rhoda Holmes from Optimation, to find the winner. A party will be held on Thursday, June 4 at the Loaded Hog ballroom in Auckland where the winner will be announced.

The IT rockstar for 2009 will an all expenses paid trip to the value of $10,000 to the IT equivalent of Glastonbury such as CeBIT.
