SAFI acquires 24/7 Hosting

SAFI Technologies has made its fourth web hosting company acquisition in two years by buying 24/7 Hosting.

The Christchurch-based web development firm says it will add 24/7 Hosting's 200 mainly small to medium-sized customers, and bring the total number of websites it runs to more than 2,000.

"The profile of 24/7 Hosting’s client base matched ours, they were located in Christchurch and ran similar software and servers to our existing infrastructure,” says SAFI managing director Tim Johnson.

He says his company continues to seek acquisition opportunities.

“We have enjoyed considerable success with previous acquisitions, for example achieving significant increases in websites hosted and therefore revenue with US-based Host World Wide after purchasing them in mid-2007,” says Johnson.

In the last two years, SAFI has bought two other Christchurch-based web hosting firms, one in the US, and established an office in Canada. It was established in 2003.
