Altech signs with Albatron

Altech has become the exclusive New Zealand and Hong Kong distributor for motherboard and components vendor Albatron.

Altech managing director Antony Sheen says the albatron brand has been successful in the APAC region in recent years, but says it has been held back until now by a "narrow" distribution strategy.

"The addition of Altech will enable Albatron’s product range to be available to a much broader channel throughout Australia New Zealand and Hong Kong," he says.

Robert Doncevski, Albatron sales and marketing director Robert Doncevski says Altech's reach and acceptance as a supplier in the APAC region makes them ideal to relaunch its products in key markets.

Doncevski says Albatron produces a lot of custom-made motherboards.

Along with motherboards and graphics cards, Altech will offer Albatron's mini-ITX and legacy graphics products, for which it says there is strong market demand.

"Altech has always been strong in small form factor computing and we believe the current trend towards smaller, more efficient systems will validate our choice of Albatron,” says Sheen.

Altech expects to have stock available across all branches during June.
