Open Polytechnic predicts bright future for one vendor

Open Polytechnic predicts bright future for one vendor

The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand wants to develop a computer based forecasting model that calculates student related grant and fee revenue.

The calculations are based on the forecast number of enrolments per course per year. At present, the Polytechnic has nearly 30,000 students.

At present it uses a manual process and wants to improve this by making use of the web based data collection, consolidation and display abilities of the Cognos software the Polytechnic uses.

It is looking for a vendor and supplier who can provide a system that can calculate enrolment revenue in a number of different ways and with different units of measurement. This is because while the units of measure are the same for fees, grants and discounts, the method of calculating fees and grants is different.

The model must be able to perform calculations for the balance of the current year and two years into the future. In addition to automating the calculations, the model will need to publish the financial results securely.

The deadline for replies is Thursday, August 6. More details are available on the Government Electronic Tenders website under ICCNZ reference 26800.
