HP kicks off YouTube competition

Local creative IT people are invited to take part in HP’s global You on You project. This is a contest with a difference as people have to create a video to express who they are without showing their faces.

According to HP, the contest uses video creation tools on YouTube such as improved video remixing and webcam video tools.

Running until Sunday, August 30, people who take part can win more than US$300,000 in cash and prizes from HP including the new Pavilion dv6z Artist Edition 2 notebook.

HP New Zealand personal systems group general manager Brent Kendrick says the vendor hopes to inspire creativity.

“Combining personal passions, digital remixing tools and the YouTube stage means we’ll be able to gather, celebrate and reward expressions of originality like never before.”
