Technology Distribution Group acquires Security Merchants

Technology Distribution Group has purchased Security Merchants NZ from ASSA ABLOY Australia Pacific.

Group managing director Steve Varney says Security Merchants will be merged with its other company, communications distributor Atlas Gentech.

"Atlas Gentech and Security Merchants were a natural fit and the outcome is ideal - both for us and the brands that we represent. We're excited to be adding the security brands to our current portfolio and looking forward to future successes."

Security Merchants will continue to operate from its premises in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Varney adds that the only outward change will be the addition of the Atlas Gentech name and branding.

Security Merchants general manager Alan Willett says that the transition period as the two companies merge will be smooth and only cosmetic changes will occur in the interim.
