MPA enterprise director Roly Smoldon has been promoted to managing director. Smoldon will have responsibility for staff, company finances, as well as customer and partner relationships. MPA’s former managing director Steve Macmillan is still involved with the company as executive director but is planning to spend some time with his family in the United Kingdom. Smoldon who holds an honours degree in humanities from the University of Lincoln has worked with MPA for the past 10 years, joining the company in 1999 in the role of business development manager. Prior to this, he spent time in the UK with Azlan and 3Com. He says Macmillan has been instrumental in the success of MPA with a focus on vendors whose products have a measurable impact upon IT operations. “With Steve at its head MPA has forged reseller relationships with IT providers’ nation wide, who work with us to sell, supply and support our technology solutions. With Steve remaining in the business, I am excited to follow in these footsteps as I take up the reigns at MPA.” No shareholder change will occur as a consequence of Smoldon’s appointment as managing director.
