Marshal8e6 now M86 Security

Merged companies Marshal and 8e6 have undergone another identity change, this time choosing a simpler name which reflects the history and specialisation of each company. The merged entity is now known as M86 Security. Marshal, the UK-based email and web security company, and 8e6 Technologies, a provider of URL filtering technology based in California, agreed late last year to merge. Alongside the new brand, the company has announced the impending launch of the first two products to integrate technology from Marshal and 8e6 and the acquisition of behavioural malware detection company Avinti, which was made in April. “Our rebranding signifies the next step in the company’s vision to become the recognised leader in comprehensive inbound and outbound content security,” says John Vigouroux, chief executive officer at M86 Security. As well as the appointment of Vigoroux, M86 Security has made senior appointments in recent months including chief marketing office William Kilmer and product management vice president Werner Thalmeier.
