Housing NZ considers data centre outsourcing

Housing New Zealand Corporation is looking at outsourcing its data centre service model to one or more partners.

The Corporation has two ICT rooms in Auckland and Wellington. Each site has storage area network and tape library facilities. Its Auckland site has 10 racks while the Wellington site has 17 racks.

It currently owns the hardware and is managing this in-house. Data growth is expected in the future which has altered its requirements. The Corporation now wants to concentrate on an outsourced option and transition to a two data centre model.

The deadline for replies is Tuesday, September 15. More details are available on the Government Electronic Tenders website under ICCNZ reference 27189.
