Supreme IBM win solidifies enterprise-grade reputation

Solnet Solutions says its Supreme Award win in last year’s IBM Partner awards boosted its brand and cemented its position as a specialist in complex, enterprise-level integration.

Last year, Solnet took the award along with the Workplace Collaboration category prize for its deployment of online services for Kiwisaver members for Inland Revenue. The project was based on IBM’s Websphere portal technology.

Northern region general manager Brett Arthur says the portal technology is an ongoing strategic capability for his company, with a number of clients including ACC and the Ministry of Health utilising this capability.

The award win has contributed to Solnet’s overall profile and reputation in the enterprise space, particularly in complex system integration and solutions, says Arthur. “We have certainly touted [the IRD project] around town. It’s certainly good from a brand awareness perspective.”

IBM New Zealand managing director Jennifer Moxon says the IBM Supreme Award is synonymous with excellence and innovation.

“Winning the prestigious IBM Supreme Award, the successful business partner will receive industry recognition and distinguish its business as an innovator in the marketplace.”

As a judge, Moxon says she will be looking to recognise those who have demonstrated outstanding delivery of business value to clients, best-of-breed technology and industry leadership, consistent high customer satisfaction and dedication to innovation.

“I’m looking forward to judging the entries and presenting the IBM Supreme Award, because I know that we have a business partner community that thrives on delivering business excellence, innovative solutions and client satisfaction.”

Arthur says since last year’s award win, Solnet has been concentrating on stability amid decreased demand for project work in the government arena. “Steady as she goes is probably a good result,” he says. Solnet’s award-winning project allowed Inland Revenue’s portal to host Kiwisaver, IR Online and other websites on the same infrastructure.
