Business software reseller Endeavour aims in the next year to push its revenues past the $10 million mark from $6 million, and to grow staff numbers by about 50 percent within three years.
Managing director Chris Miller says acquisitions on either side of the Tasman are a possibility for the company next year, having already bedded in a local merger and established a Melbourne office.
“Our intention is to continue to expand our capability in New Zealand and offshore,” says Miller, adding the company hopes to grow to other areas in Australia.
“Our main efforts have been in Melbourne but we’re looking further afield. Acquisitions are a possibility and we see good growth potential in New Zealand next year. We’re interested in looking on either side of the Tasman.”
Formed in 1997 from three dealers of CBA business software, Endeavour merged with Christchurch-based Globaltech in 2001. Globaltech was also a merged organisation, combining Professional Software and the IT department of accounting company Grant Thornton in 2001, Endeavour’s website says.
“We’ve also seen the merger methodology work for us, because we were similar organisations with similar goals,” says Miller. “We’ve probably got past being a multi-branch organisation, that was a tough challenge and it’s a work in progress. We’ve now got to a point where we can start a new branch and know we could make a success of it.”
Endeavour now has about 45 staff across its group, including nine in Australia, but Miller says it wants to grow this number by about 50 percent in the next three years. He says it will hire more salespeople across the Tasman.
The company has about 450 customer sites, and has seen more demand among mid-size businesses in recent years rather than smaller firms, says Miller.
He says his company’s services are typically requested by larger firms because smaller companies have knowledge or self help tools available that allow them to run their software.
Endeavour was awarded last year by both of its major vendor partners – Greentree and Sage.
It won Sage’s Australia/New Zealand Customer Satisfaction Partner of the Year for 2008, and was also Greentree’s New Zealand Business Partner of the Year last year.
In addition, business development manager Perry Nicholson took the award for the Best Greentree Newcomer of the Year last year.
