Lexar, Cellnet sign ANZ deal

Flash memory vendor Lexar Media has appointed Cellnet as an ANZ distributor. The company will be supplying Lexar’s range of products to the retail and telecommunications market.

Lexar’s flash memory products include USB flash drives, Kodak memory cards and readers.

Lexar ANZ national sales manager Richard Clarke says Cellnet’s distribution reach and strong focus on flash memory was a driver behind the deal.

“Cellnet is a value added reseller with national sales presence throughout Australia and New Zealand. They will provide us with deeper penetration into our priority markets of telco and retail.”

Cellnet CEO Stuart Smith says the partnership provides it with the opportunity to expand offerings in the flash memory segment.

“In addition, we are now looking to add more local resources in New Zealand to drive growth in the category to replicate and leverage off our success as the largest supplier of memory to the Australian market.”

Malwarebytes shoots the breeze with channel, prospects

A Kumeu, Auckland, winery was the venue for a Malwarebytes event for partner and prospect MSPs - with some straight shooting on the side. The half-day getaway, which featured an archery competition, lunch and wine-tasting aimed at bringing Malwarebytes' local New Zealand and top and prospective MSP partners together to celebrate recent local successes, and discuss the current state of malware in New Zealand. This was also a unique opportunity for local MSPs to learn about how they can get the most out of Malwarebytes' MSP program and offering, as more Kiwi businesses are targeted by malware.
