"Business as usual" after consumables warehouse blaze

Office consumables and hardware supplier Corporate Consumables/Print IT says next-day customer orders will not be disrupted following a massive fire at its office and warehouse complex in the South Auckland suburb of Mt Wellington.

Marketing manager Gavin Ferris says the company is already "partially operational" at a new warehouse site at Contract Logistics, also in South Auckland.

"We're business as usual. The only thing that will change is urgent orders and pick-ups," he says, adding it should be "back to full strength" by this Monday morning. Stock is being shipped from its Wellington and Christchurch warehouses.

All stock stored in the Mt Wellington premises at the time was lost, says Ferris. This included printers, toner and stationery.

The value of the stock has not yet been assessed, he says.

The fire broke out early yesterday evening at Fisher Crescent in Mt Wellington and was attended by more than 20 fire appliances.

The company adopted the Print IT name in 2005.
