Sherman joins Microsoft to market hardware

Nicola Sherman is Microsoft’s new hardware product marketing manager, replacing Josie Sutherland.

Sherman began her IT career at Tech Pacific (now Ingram Micro) in March 2003 and remained with the company until November 2008.

“I started off as a buyer, then team leader and for my last two and half years I was product manager then business manager for Microsoft.” Sherman looked after Xbox, Office and Windows Business at Ingram Micro.

She has joined Microsoft after returning from 10 months travelling around the UK, Europe and Asia, and her product portfolio includes keyboards, mice, headsets and the Office for Mac range.

“A lot of the team I’ve dealt with for the past four years as a product and business manager. I understood what the role entailed. It was the perfect fit to move over from distribution to vendor land.”

Sherman says she wants to increase market share and get the Microsoft hardware brand known locally.

“I feel like I’ve been here for years because I have existing relationships with the team here.”
