Auckland GPS tracking specialist Snitch is targeting integrators in a bid to become a preferred supplier in the market.
The company already works with auto-electrical retailers to market its tracker installations, but is now targeting reseller partners.
Snitch provides the SA38-10 commercial GPS tracker and the ArmadaGPS web-based mapping fleet and asset management application for mapping, reporting, notifications and alerts and a multi-user interface. As well, it provides the SnitchGPS online system for which users pay a monthly fee.
National sales manager Harold Leaupepe says he is confident the company will have agreements for Armada with Gen-i, Axon and Softsource by next year.
Partners can either resell Snitch’s web-based services, or integrate them into their own GPS/mapping offerings, he says.
“It depends what the customer wants. They can use our platform to launch their own GPS tracking or we can provide all of it.”
Leaupepe says Snitch has gone as far as it can working directly with customers such as DHL and Mainfreight, which is why the company has turned to partners.
“A lot of these [customers] have IT contracts with the likes of Gen-i so we have to go through that channel. We have sold some products to Gen-i’s clients and they are pushing for us to be a preferred GPS tracking supplier.”
According to Leaupepe, Gen-i is interested in Armada as a different offering alongside its Locate+ vehicle tracking system.
“We’re also meeting with Axon to discuss a partnership. We’re already working with Air New Zealand’s engineering department and we will channel that through Axon.”
Snitch has operated since 2005 and set up a reseller programme in Australia in 2008. “We went into the reseller channel in Australia straight away, because the GPS product and platform was there to do it,” he explains.
Leaupepe adds that he will be recruiting more sales staff in Wellington and Christchurch. “Our business has grown so much that we need representation in those areas.” He also plans to bring on another Auckland staff member next year.
Prior to joining Snitch, Leaupepe worked in the hospitality industry for 10 years, running his own business.
