F5 adds Westcon as third local distributor

F5 Networks has inked a distribution agreement with Westcon Group in Australia and New Zealand. Westcon Group's recent acquistion of distributor Datastor, which specialises in storage, virtualisation and datacentre technologies, will grow the market penetration of F5's ARX data management offerings. “By partnering with Westcon, we intend to expand our route to market for our industry-leading Application Delivery Networking products," says F5's ANZ managing director Kurt Hansen. "Our new partnership with Westcon makes sense as we look to deepen our relationships with customers. Westcon’s established program infrastructure will help us systematically achieve this.” Prior to the trans-Tasman deal, Westcon already represented F5 in seven countries. ANZ sales director for Westcon, Leigh Howard, says the relationship with F5 plays to many of its strong suits, especially its knowledge of networks and datacentres. Existing New Zealand distributors are Distribution Central and Observatory Crest.
