REANNZ in market for routers

The Research and Education Advanced Network New Zealand (REANNZ) is after layer two and three ethernet routers as it expands the Kiwi Advanced Research Education Network (KAREN).

KAREN provides a reliable high capacity, high speed network for the local research, education and innovation community.

The core network is a strictly unconstrained layer two, ethernet pipe which interconnects larger KAREN members via layer three routers owned, managed and configured by the members’ IT resources.

Smaller KAREN members, without these IT resources or who do not own and manage a level three router, require these services to be provided by REANNZ.

The deadline for replies is Friday, February 12.
