MAF takes farm data online

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is creating a data centre called FarmsOnLine and is looking for a data maintenance provider.

FarmsOnLine is intended to provide an accurate up to date source of information about rural properties including farm location, ownership, management and stock/crop information.

The centre will proactively update information on 50,000 properties each year as part of the information maintenance programme. Collected information will support government and industry initiatives.

The provider will have to perform regular mail-out surveys and telephone campaigns as well as call centre support for farmers who wish to access and update their details through the web application.

The deadline for replies is Monday, April 19.
