Blade file transfer goes mobile

Blade file transfer goes mobile

Auckland company Blade has released a mobile version of its Blade Transfer System due to customer feedback. It is available through distributor Soft Solutions.

Sales and marketing general manager Keith Bick says Blade Mobi gives mobile professionals the ability to access files on any connected device.

“If you’re a busy executive you can access corporate files and make that decision on the spot. Previously you had to have a virtual private network [VPN] and a laptop so it’s much simpler.”

In addition to the mobility, we have a whole range of new features which allow for even faster transfer and increased security.”

These include policy based monitoring which means offsite backups can be monitored on a large scale.

Soft Solutions business development manager Paul Leslie says he has already received interest from resellers as they have customers who go to remote sites and have information which needs to be updated immediately.

“This release gives me a better engagement with resellers interested in mobile software. People still look at email as a file transfer but we’re about improving that technology with Blade.”

Blade chief technology officer Valentine Boiarkine says the file transfer product has been taken to "the next level".

“They can access the same files they had in the office. A lot of the features are customer driven because people were saying they wanted these files on their mobile. The experience is the same [as a laptop] but it’s optimised for the phone.”

She says the company has concentrated on three main areas, data access, off site backup and file replication.

Boiarkine adds that the Mobi version is aimed at mobile executives who have the latest phone technology.

“They are the ones who need immediate information but otherwise any mobile worker. People can now get a return on investment on those devices because they are expensive.”

Malwarebytes shoots the breeze with channel, prospects

A Kumeu, Auckland, winery was the venue for a Malwarebytes event for partner and prospect MSPs - with some straight shooting on the side. The half-day getaway, which featured an archery competition, lunch and wine-tasting aimed at bringing Malwarebytes' local New Zealand and top and prospective MSP partners together to celebrate recent local successes, and discuss the current state of malware in New Zealand. This was also a unique opportunity for local MSPs to learn about how they can get the most out of Malwarebytes' MSP program and offering, as more Kiwi businesses are targeted by malware.
