Open Polytechnic places major PC tender

The Open Polytechnic is undergoing a hardware refresh and needs 250 desktop computers, 250 notebooks and 20 thin clients for its Lower Hutt campus. It plans to establish a two-year supplier agreement with possible renewal options.

The PCs and notebooks must be compatible with the Windows 7 operating system as the Polytechnic is changing its infrastructure from Windows XP. It also wants to upgrade 65 Dell Optiplex 745 computers from 1GB to 4GB RAM and 55 Dell E5500 notebooks from 2GB to 4GB RAM.

Vendors can add additional software or hardware that they believe would benefit the Open Polytechnic. This could include different processors or extra software provided on CD, DVD or floppy disk. They will also need to provide indicative pricing and details of experience providing similar services.

The deadline for replies is Monday, April 19. More information is available on the Government Electronic Tenders website.
