Westcon Group becomes Riverbed ANZ distributor

Riverbed has appointed Westcon Group as a distributor in Australia and New Zealand.

It is the second ANZ distributor alongside Distribution Central. M.Tech works with Riverbed in Australia.

Westcon will act as an indirect sales channel for Riverbed’s wide area network (WAN) optimisation offerings in ANZ. The company recently acquired Datastor, a Riverbed channel partner. In March, Westcon CEO Dean Douglas said it wanted to create a true cross-Tasman business by adding Australian agencies.

Riverbed ANZ managing director Steve Dixon says Westcon’s established channel program infrastructure will help it work more efficiently with key service providers, systems integrators and value-added resellers.

“The partnership is expected to expand the route to market for our award-winning WAN optimisation solutions, as we look to assist enterprises and government organisations in overcoming the challenges associated with distributed workforces.”

Westcon Group Australia managing director Leigh Howard says Riverbed is a great fit within its datacentre and storage practice, where branch-office, data centre consolidation and virtualisation solutions are designed and built for resellers.
