Websense makes NZ lead role local

Websense country manager Chris Barton will relocate to New Zealand with the vendor saying growth in this country warrants making the position local.

Barton was previously based in Sydney, saying he commuted to New Zealand weekly to spread his time between Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. He will “in time” seek offices premises in Auckland.

“The market has grown to the point where we need someone [in New Zealand],” says ANZ marketing manager David Brophy. “There’s been significant growth across a number of verticals and geographies from Christchurch to Auckland.”

Barton is the former ANZ regional manager for Sonicwall.
