Security vendor Blue Coat has appointed former SAP Business Objects trans-Tasman general manager Rajeev Mitroo as its ANZ managing director, based in Sydney.
A 20-year veteran of the IT industry recently with SAP for two years, Mitroo replaces Wayne Neich, who has resigned.
Mitroo has also held Australian and Asia Pacific sales management roles at Vignette, Borland, Novell and Intel.
He says there are strong regional growth opportunities for the vendor.
“From an ANZ perspective, both externally and internally, we’re working to provide some structure and process change. We want to work with partners on an engagement model that has us achieving mutual goals.”
Mitroo has already met with New Zealand channel sales manager Michael Dodds and Dave Rosenberg, CEO of local Blue Coat distributor Datastor, to discuss future plans. He says Blue Coat wants to use Datastor’s resources to increase its reach, and the company aims to recruit a local presales staff member in the next two years.
“We’ve started talking about a go to market model that will be a lot more collaborative and allow us to leverage each other’s economies of scale. We also want to work more closely with key reseller organisations in New Zealand.
“New Zealand is a very important market for Blue Coat and one we’re yet to hit our true potential with.”
To outline its ANZ plans, Blue Coat will hold a quarterly business update for its ANZ partners in Sydney on June 2.
The vendor will also be relaunching its Channel Advantage programme at the event to outline to partners where they fit within that programme and detail Blue Coat’s expectations in areas such as sales targets.
