Fujitsu adds SMX to managed services portfolio

Cloud-based security company SMX has added services firm Fujitsu New Zealand to its partner roster.

Under the agreement, Fujitsu will offer SMX’s managed anti-spam and anti-virus services as part of its customer offering.

SMX’s ANZ sales manager Michael Murphy says each company’s strength in government markets was one of the main reasons behind the partnership.

“Our product is strong in central and local government and we’re the largest supplier of email services to the New Zealand government with more than 50 entities,” says Murphy. “Fujitsu is a very big player in government.”

SMX also wanted to secure the services of a tier one integrator to add to its partner base of about 100 local resellers, says Murphy.

Fujitsu managing director Stuart Stitt says the local service and support provided by SMX are key for his company’s customers.

“Fujitsu has partnered with SMX due to their strength in email filtering in New Zealand. In addition, SMX has a proven service with a great value proposition for Fujitsu customers in our region,” he says.

Earlier this year, SMX signed trans-Tasman distributor Westcon and branched into Japan through a licensing deal with hosting provider Tsukaeru.net. In 2008 it partnered with Indian Tata Group subsidiary CMC and it also has partnerships in Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia.
