Trans-Tasman finance software company Finzsoft has partnered with Indian-headquartered IT services company HCL Technologies, in a bid to expand globally.
Finzsoft chairman Don Hattaway says under the channel agreement, HCL will recommend Finzsoft’s software to banks and financial institutions that form part of its customer base.
“Although there is no guarantee of a sale, they have a good knowledge of our software and are able to recommend Finzsoft as part of a customer consultation,” says Hattaway. “It is a warm to hot call as opposed to a cold call. We see that as another channel that would be a lot harder to break into, if it wasn’t for that warm call.”
HCL will recommend Finzsoft’s Sovereign’s finance and banking software package to its customers.
Hattaway says Finzsoft will in turn consider adding HCL’s offerings as part its portfolio.
“They have myriad products that could be very useful to us. We’ll assess customer needs and if we don’t have it as part of our core offering ourselves, we would look at HCL.”
Finzsoft aims to break into new territories by forming the alliance, says Hattaway.
HCL Technologies has a presence in 26 countries. Hattaway says the company could become a good channel partner for Finzsoft in regions such as Asia and North America, rather than trying to establish more Finzsoft offices offshore.
He says partnership discussions began when Finzsoft and HCL came across each other through a mutual association with Australian bank St George, part of the Westpac Group.
Finzsoft is also working with US firm NetFinance Solutions to tackle the North American market.
HCL established its local business in 1998 and last year established a partnership with services company Optimation.
