Hitachi Data Systems aims to build on double digit growth in the past three years by appointing a local sales manager and recruiting customer support engineers.
The company has hired Paul Lewer, a former storage and systems sales specialist firstly at Sun Microsystems and then at Oracle New Zealand, as its new sales manager.
“Hitachi Data Systems has proven expertise and support to its customers," says Lewer. "I am excited about joining a company that has such a solid reputation in the market."
It has also established a customer service and support division and is recruiting for engineers to offer on-site maintenance services through Platinum and Silver level partners. It says this investment will complement the on-site maintenance support capabilities provided to customers by a number of Hitachi channel partners.
Hitachi’s Platinum Partner, Revera, also provides maintenance services. Silver partners include Eagle Techology, SoftSource and Techtonics, while distributors are partners Acer and Express Data.
