JB Hi-Fi ANZ signs exclusivity deal with Dell

ANZ retail giant, JB Hi-Fi has signed an exclusive retail deal with PC vendor, Dell.

JB Hi-Fi CFO, Richard Murray, says the two companies signed the exclusivity deal a few months ago.

He also said no other vendor had been dropped as a result of the deal.

“It highlights the strength of JB’s computer offer that Dell wanted to partner with us as an exclusive brand,” he says. “They’re an important supplier…Dell is a global brand and it has credibility across all products.

“We think the online and in-store presence is complementary… JB provides customers with choice and Dell is an important part of that… we’re very happy with our relationship with Dell.”

CEO Terry Smart says the deal includes JB Hi-Fi’s New Zealand stores.

“We’ll be stocking the full range of Dell PCs. It does mean that Dick Smith will no longer be stocking Dell’s Inspirion range.”

Dick Smith was appointed in August last year as a retail outlet for the vendor’s Inspirion PCs, desktops and monitors.

Dell would not confirm or deny JB Hi-Fi’s claims of an exclusive arrangement.

A spokesperson said retail partners were just one of Dell’s pathways to the market.

“While we maintain relationships with other retailers, we decline to comment further on our relationships,” the spokesperson said. “We also continually assess our go-to market strategy in Australia to ensure we best serve the needs of our customers.”

Malwarebytes shoots the breeze with channel, prospects

A Kumeu, Auckland, winery was the venue for a Malwarebytes event for partner and prospect MSPs - with some straight shooting on the side. The half-day getaway, which featured an archery competition, lunch and wine-tasting aimed at bringing Malwarebytes' local New Zealand and top and prospective MSP partners together to celebrate recent local successes, and discuss the current state of malware in New Zealand. This was also a unique opportunity for local MSPs to learn about how they can get the most out of Malwarebytes' MSP program and offering, as more Kiwi businesses are targeted by malware.
