Renaissance appoints networking GM

Renaissance has appointed Chris Knox as general manager of networking and security products.

It has also recently recruited Steven Ton as a networking and security product specialist. He has 15 years' experience in IT and telecommunications, and has worked at Vodafone in solution sales and product management for the past six years.

Knox has spent the past nine years as managing director of SmartCorp, which specialises in strategy and commercialisation of new ideas. He is also the former CEO and country manager of Oceanic Communications and was national partnership relationship manager for Telecom for two years until 2001.

The pair join Mark Stuart, Shane Boswell and David Hull in Renaissance's networking and security team.

Networking and security-specialist staff to leave Renaissance in recent times include former general manager Mark Dasent, Roneel Prasad and Kevin Swainson, who joined Connector Systems.

Knox says Ton's product management skills are a timely addition to Renaissance because of the emerging need for data management and security in the mobile arena.

"We’re looking to hire more experts in this field to really expand our business," says Knox.
