Owens trades Oracle for Extreme Networks

Extreme Networks has appointed James Owens, the former sales director for Oracle in Asia-Pacific, as its new regional director for Australia and New Zealand.

“The networking community likes the direction in which Extreme Networks is evolving its Ethernet switch technology. We are taking networks from the physical, to virtual to cloud. This helped to lure me from Oracle, as did the company’s value proposition around ‘aware’ networks, where I see a substantial upside for Extreme Networks. "

Before joining Oracle in 2007, Owens was a director and sales consultant for Cincom Systems. He has had a 20 year career in IT.
