Eric Ryda goes down consulting path

Former Ingram Micro senior business manager Eric Ryda has started his own IT contract consulting company called Mantis Endeavour.

According to his Linkedin profile, the consulting group provides product training, go to market strategies and business development in areas such as mobile computing, wireless networking and point of sale hardware.

Ryda says the main reason for setting up the business was to do contract work.

"I decided there was a lot of businesses that wanted to test certain markets and certain products. There doesn't seem to be many people around offering that consulting service who have the experience and background that I've had."

He says one of the things he is exploring is how he can add value to businesses.

"I want to call on that experience I have in bringing new products to market and understanding how the supply chain works."

Ryda resigned from Ingram Micro in July, He had been with the distributor for just over a year after it acquired point of sale company Vantex in June 2009.

Prior to this role, he was Vantex’s mobile and wireless division manager. He joined the company in 2005. Ryda also worked at Provenco as a business development manager.
