Lexel Systems has launched a Networking and Security - Professional Services practice to complement its existing Infrastructure - Professional Services practice. CEO Noel Simpson says Lexel has previously outsourced its enterprise networking and security, but has now brought this capability into its organisation. "With the move towards more cloud services and more regulated competition in the telco world, enterprise networking and security services are a key growth opportunity for our business," he says. Former Datacraft professional services practice lead Glenn Lovegrove has joined Lexel, and it has recruited two Cisco engineers into the network and security project team. It has also added more resources and tools to its managed services business for greater network monitoring and reporting and plans to hire further staff. It also plans to recruit more staff to the practice, for which key technologies include enterprise wide area networks (WAN), local area networks, wireless, VoIP, encryption and acceleration systems. Among the services provided are designs, pilots, deployments, tuning and troubleshooting, security auditing and forensics, consulting and network management. Simpson adds the practice has already secured some major project wins, aincluding a 168x node WAN upgrade and several enterprise-level core network upgrades.
